LandPartners is sponsoring a Student Bursary Award, on behalf of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), in order to reward top performing secondary school students and alleviate the financial burden of full time tertiary study. 'Sponsoring is a way for LandPartners to reward academic excellence in QLD schools as well as to promote planning as a career,' Managing Director, Geoff Hardy said.
Every year the QLD division of the PIA presents a $1000 bursary to a first year university student who has received the highest results in Year 12, and is enrolled in an accredited degree with The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Griffith University or James Cook University.
Brochures outlining the bursary award are sent to geography teachers at all schools across the state and are handed out at TS XPO and other career day events throughout QLD.
LandPartners will hold the naming rights to the award in 2009. ‘It is a privilege to be involved with the bursary and to hold the naming rights. We believe it is essential that industry support employees of the future’ Geoff Hardy said.
