Wellness initiative launched

LandPartners lead the race in staff wellness

February 2008

National built environment firm, LandPartners, are leading the race when it comes to staff wellness programs by designing a fun, incentive-based program similar to the reality TV show "The Amazing Race".

‘Our objective is to reduce health risks and build stress resilience for all participants in our workplace while delivering positive lifestyle messages associated with ongoing health promotion' LandPartners' Compliance Coordinator, Bernadette Franklin said.

For a wellness program to be successful, employees need to be actively engaged and involved. To participate in “Our Amazing Race”, participants will be required to wear a pedometer so that their daily distance walked can be measured.

In order to motivate employee participation, an incentive-based program has been devised.

Each office will be known as a checkpoint and the first person to arrive at each checkpoint will receive a double movie pass.  The first person to complete the 1367 kilometre walk will receive a dinner for two at the restaurant of their choice.

‘Essentially, it will be a virtual walk from the Western Corridor office in Brisbane, through the city and along the eastern seaboard via our regional offices, and finishing at our Sydney office in Parramatta – so let the race commence!' Bernadette said.
